When you use Basalt Protocol, we may collect:
- Files you upload: Images and documents submitted for notarization
- Cryptographic hashes: SHA-256 fingerprints of your files
- Blockchain records: Public transaction data on Solana
- Usage data: Anonymous analytics about how you use our service
2. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to:
- Provide cryptographic signing and notarization services
- Store your files on IPFS for permanent, decentralized access
- Create immutable blockchain records of your content
- Improve and optimize our services
3. Data Storage & Security
Files are stored on IPFS (InterPlanetary File System), a decentralized network. Once uploaded, content is distributed across multiple nodes and cannot be deleted or modified. Blockchain anchors are permanent and publicly visible on the Solana network.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Pinata: IPFS pinning and gateway services
- Solana: Blockchain network for transaction anchoring
- DigiCert: Timestamp authority for C2PA signatures
5. Your Rights
Due to the nature of blockchain and IPFS technology, data cannot be deleted once submitted. Please only submit content you have the right to notarize and are comfortable being permanently recorded.
